Our Story
Welcome to Kind Living Co.
Hi, I’m Rachael. I live on the beautiful East Coast by the beach with my partner and two rescue dogs and horses.
I’ve always been a highly creative, curious soul, one of those people who is constantly learning and trying new things. If I’m not painting portraits, working on sourdough or testing pizzas in my earth oven, you’ll usually find me cleft grafting my fruit trees, mulching the garden, or feeding seaweed to my collection of rare variegated sub-tropical plants.
I’ve been vegetarian for over 40 years, so growing organic plant food is a big part of my life. Sustainability, nature and herbal medicine are close to my heart. I studied herbal medicine and left the corporate world years ago without looking back. Animals have always been part of my story. I’ve shared my life with rescue dogs for as long as I can remember, and I support rescue charities whenever I can.
I also love making things by hand - candles, skincare, beeswax balms, herbal tinctures, apothecary creations and much more.
My home and greenhouse are overflowing with herbs, seedlings, and subtropical plants. We have also managed to place in fruit trees in every corner, nook and section of our coastal home.
This space is a way for me to bring it all together, with my love of nature, animals, sustainability, and creativity.
Through my Kind Living journal and store, I share the things I’ve learned, the products I’ve created, and the lifestyle I live every day.
Below are a few of my 'unfinished’ paintings! One day I will eventually get around to completing them. :)
We also run a little bed and breakfast here on the coast, welcoming travelers from around the world to come and stay, slow down and experience the beauty of this place we call home. You can find it here: https://www.booking.com/hotel/nz/bed-and-breakfast
Noho ora mai – Live well and with intention.
Warm regards, Rachael & the Kind Living Co.
